Western Arthurs via K moraine

Postby Hikethetrail [70] » Thu 17 Nov, 2022 5:55 pm

Hi All,

Older hiker looking for female hiking partner who would be interested in a 5-6 day hike ( slow and easy) within the Western Arthurs via the K moraine.
Depending on weather it is planned to start around the end of February or early March 2023. I have my own camper van so transport is available to and from Hobart to Scotts Peak dam campground.
I have NO set schedule on hiking days but have to start around the time indicated above ( late February). I have no expectations on fitness, age or ability but you will need to carry your own gear other than some commonalities like stove, gas, first aid and GPS items, etc.
Any questions or enquires welcome...
Intending on a warm up hike to Pindars Peak prior to the Arthurs if interested

Hi!

I am cautiously expressing my interest to join you on this invitation! I am 33 year old from Canada and am planning to explore Tasmania sometime in Feb/March (dates yet TBD). The Arthurs are an area of interest to me! I love mountain hikes. But I have no idea what the Tasmanian wilderness is like compared to in North America and am not keen to attempt to hike solo!

I am generally pretty fit, but am recovering from a foot issue that I expect to be fully better by Feb/March and not slow me down. That said, I have good stamina/good at incline, but am not particularly fast ;) So slow and easy sounds great to me.

Would love a bit more info about yourself. As you can imagine, being a young female and accepting an invitation from a male to go out in the wilderness far from home can feel a bit unsafe... So please reassure me you are not a homicidal psychopath ;) Thanks!
