Mayijangu & Nyanjiki Lookout Circuit

Starting from the dirt car park/campground off Devils Marbles Road, Davenport, this walk takes you on a circuit in the Karlu Karlu / Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve, visiting the Nyanjiki Lookout along the way. You’ll have a chance to view the magnificent warm boulders of Karlu Karlu from up-close and be dazzled by their sheer size and exceptional balance. The Nyanjiki Lookout offers panoramic views over the reserve and makes for a great stop to watch the sunset. The official Mayijangu Walk starts from the paved road to the west, yet the only difference is the starting point. The interpretive signposts inform you about the history of the area, why it’s called Devils Marbles and how the rocks were formed. Please be respectful and refrain from climbing the historic boulders as they are spiritually and culturally important to the land’s traditional Aboriginal owners. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the northern end of the large dirt car park/campground (Devils Marbles), head towards the slanted “Mayijangu Walk” sign as you pass through the bollard. Pass by the said sign to your left and head along the dirt walking track, moving directly away from the car park. Shortly after, keep left at the fork as you pass by a brown signpost (to your right) to continue along Mayijangu & Nyanjiki Lookout Circuit (counterclockwise).....

	Start. Find the camp site at the start. Find the shelter at the start.
	After another 30 m continue straight. Keep left. After another 8 m pass the toilet (on your left).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This side trip takes you to the Niyanjiki Lookout, where you can get panoramic views of the reserve. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip veer left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 125 m continue straight.
	After another 150 m continue straight.
	After another 190 m turn left.
	After another 105 m turn right.
	After another 205 m continue straight. About 40 m past the end is "Devils Marbles Campground". There is a fee to use this campsite. About 75 m past the end is a toilet.
	The end.

This side trip takes you to the Niyanjiki Lookout, where you can get panoramic views of the reserve.
